McKenna Storer takes great pride in announcing attorney Jaime Dowell’s selection as a 2017 recipient of the United States District Court’s Award for Excellence in Public Interest Service. Sponsored by the Chicago Chapter of the Federal Bar Association, this annual award recognizes area attorneys for outstanding contributions in serving individuals in need of assistance in the Northern District of Illinois.
In making his announcement of the Award, Chief Judge Ruben Castillo of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois referred to Jaime’s meritorious work with the Bankruptcy Help Desk. Established and staffed in conjunction with Prairie State Legal Services, the assistance program relies upon attorneys, such as Jaime, who offer their time and knowledge of the bankruptcy laws to provide free legal advice to parties who are not represented by lawyers.
The official presentation of the Award will take place at the Eighteenth Annual Excellence in Pro Bono and Public Interest Service Award Ceremony on May 24, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at the James B. Parsons Memorial Courtroom in the Everett McKinley Dirksen United States Courthouse. The keynote speaker at the ceremony will be the Honorable Michael J. Newman, president of the Federal Bar Association.
Jaime focuses her practice on Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcies and business formation at the Woodstock and Chicago offices where she is Of Counsel to McKenna Storer.
